However, the local healthcare system faces challenges in accessing high-grade, biocompatible materials that can withstand the humid tropical climate and varying patient activity levels.
Economically, there is a critical shift toward seeking durable, long-term solutions. Many patients previously relied on low-grade alloys that suffered from early wear and corrosion. The introduction of total knee replacement titanium components has significantly reduced revision surgery rates in urban medical centers.
Currently, the market is characterized by a reliance on imports. There is an urgent need for standardized, high-precision titanium knee cap designs that provide surgeons in Cameroon with consistent outcomes regardless of the patient's anatomical variations.
